Outlander British Army Uniform and breeches 2Sept17

This commission was for the Outlander TV series character 'Lord John' - British Army Uniform (SIDm - six pieces). The fall-front breeches are for Outlander's 'Jamie' (EIDm). The British Army Officer Uniform was inspired by the Outlander photo at the bottom of the page.

The Uniform Coat fabric was sewn with red poly-wool challis. The lining fabric in the coat's skirt is blue Irish linen which was also used for the coat's collar and turned-back cuffs. The upper body lining is blue satin
The jacket features extensive embroidery in gold metallic thread down the fronts. The turn-back cuffs also have gold embroidery, and are trimmed with four golden metal beads.

The red waistcoat was made with the red poly-wool challis fabric. Rice colored batiste fabric was used for the back and the full lining. The design of this waistcoat is slightly different to the white version - to make it look more formal. The nine working buttonholes are sewn with gold metallic thread. The working pockets have fancy pocket flaps with gold decorative embroidery.

The white waistcoat fronts use the same white suedecloth fabric as the breeches. Rice colored batiste fabric was used for the back and the full lining. Seven small silvery- white buttons with working buttonholes close the front. It has two working pockets.

The uniform shirt is done in white batiste fabric. It has four silk loops for the neck opening 'buttons' which are small white 'pearls'. The wrist has a self fabric ruffle, a 'pearl' button and closes with a small snap. The shirt pulls on over the head. The period style neckcloth is done in same white batiste fabric as the shirt.

The Iplehouse SIDm size fall-front breeches for 'Lord John' uniform are done in a white suedecloth. There are white decorative buttons at waist, fall front and calf. Small snaps close the waist and the fall front. The calf openings also close with small snaps.

The Iplehouse EIDm size fall-front breeches for 'Jamie' are done in fawn suedecloth. Dark brown buttons have been used, as requested. Snaps close the waist and the fall front. The calf openings also close with small snaps and have a decorative button.

Iplehouse SIDm Giorgio (original peach gold, muscle body) models the Lord John uniform set in his bare feet and in boots.

Iplehouse EIDm Kamau (light brown, Model body) models the fawn breeches in his bare feet and in boots.
