"Ross Poldark" Inspired Outfit - Sep18

This commission was for a "Ross Poldark" inspired outfit for a Migidoll 65cm body. The commission included nine pieces: Frock Coat, shirt, neckcloth, two pair breeches, two waistcoats, tricorn hat, and a Great Coat.

The collar-less frock coat was sewn with the navy blue suede-cloth. Inspiration photos from google were used to adjust my frock coat pattern to have collar-less neckline and fold-back cuffs. The coat is fully lined in black crepe-back satin for the body, and black silkessence in the sleeves. The center front has seven buttons and working buttonholes.

The shirt and neckcloth were made with white Swiss batiste fabric. The shirt has the voluminous sleeves similar to those shown in the TV series. The collar and cuffs close with a single tiny white button and buttonholes. The neckcloth has tiny hems all around, and is folded in thirds.

The darker blue waistcoat was sewn with deep navy poly-wool challis fabric as the fronts. The stand-up collar is self fabric on both sides. The back is silver Nelona batiste fabric, and the full lining is silver silkessence fabric. The waistcoat has working pockets with a self fabric pocket flap. The center front closes with eight small black buttons and working buttonholes.

The light blue waistcoat was sewn with suede fabric as the fronts. The stand-up collar is self fabric on both sides. The back is white batiste fabric, and the full lining is white silkessence fabric. The waistcoat has working pockets with a self pocket flap. The center front closes with nine small black buttons and working buttonholes. This waistcoat is a little longer than the darker one.

The dark gray fall-front breeches were sewn with charcoal suede-cloth. The fall-front lining is black batiste fabric, as is the lining on the front bridges. The waistband closes in front with two medium black snaps - hidden by two black buttons. The fall- front closes with two small black snaps, and has three black buttons as trim. The cuffs close with one small snap each.

The pale gray/light beige fall-front breeches were sewn with suede-cloth. The bridges and the fall-front were lined in white batiste fabric. The waistband closes in front with two medium silver snaps - hidden by two beige buttons. The fall- front closes with two small silver snaps, and has three beige buttons as trim. The cuffs close with one small snap each.

The tricorn hat was sewn with dark navy heavy weight cotton fabric. It is fully self-lined. The brim of the hat has medium weight interfacing inside. The folds are held in place by dark navy threads in a cross stitch. The back has stitches on two sides. The hat was sized to fit over a provided mohair wig.

The long brown overcoat - Great Coat - was sewn with dark brown suede-cloth. The coat was fully lined in black crepe-back satin. It was made oversize to fit over the frock coat. It was inspired by several photos from the TV series. A 65cm Migidoll body (with Granado head and Tibetan mohair wig) was provided for this commission - he models all of these pieces.
