Outlander - Four Garments - July2016

This commission for four garments inspired by the TV series "Outlander" - Season 2
- fitted for the Iplehouse Large Bust SID (62cm) and EID woman (65cm) and the Iplehouse EID Model man (70cm).

The bordered gold brocade fabric was used for the EID woman Robe Battante with short sleeves. It has a back yoke with the wider version2 pleats. The sleeves have the border-edge as the sleeve. The seams were all bound. The front facings were hemmed by hand. The length was set to be slightly shorter in front, but is slightly longer than the red robe - getting the border to fall as the hem, and trails on the 'floor' in the back.

The red/gold brocade fabric was used to make the SID woman Robe Battante with short sleeves. It also has a back yoke and the wider version2 pleats. All seams were also bound. The front facings were hemmed by hand. The robe is slightly shorter in front so that her barefoot toes may peek out, falls on the 'floor' in the back.

The silk nightgown was make of 100% Habotai silk with tiny silk ribbon at the neckline for gathering the neckline. The very wide, gathered sleeves have a ruff at the wrist, and the casing has 1/8" elastic hidden inside. This featherweight silk fabric is very sheer and drapes beautifully. Tiny hems were sewn at the wrist and mid-calf length of the body.

The EID man's waistcoat was made using two front pieces of the chosen gold/copper-highlight brocade fabric. The back and the full linings were made with beige cotton batiste fabric. The fancy pocket flaps were drafted especially for the "court waistcoat" and have brocade outside and batiste inside. Both pockets have welted openings and deep pocket bags. The nine small buttons with working buttonholes close the waistcoat (not all buttons are fastened in photos). All buttonholes were fray-checked before cutting open.

My SID Large Bust Model, Rachel (SID custom Doria, 62cm), is modeling the SID Robe Battante with the Habotai Silk nightgown underneath; she also models the silk nightgown alone. Rachel is barefoot in all the photos.

My EID Medium bust model, Carina (EID ltd "Carina BellyDancer", orig body, 65cm) models the EID Robe Battante with her "falsies" under a white bodysuit with long sleeves (not in the commission). She wears heels.

My EID Model man, Arjun (orig body, ltd edition Kamau, 70cm) is modeling the brocade waistcoat. He wears a period batiste shirt underneath and breeches (not included in the commission).
